Welcome and Exciting News
If this is your first time visiting this blog, don’t worry; it’s my first time as well. I started The Queens Left Shoe some years ago, and never published a single post. As I finally begin, I think it would be worthwhile for me to reflect on what has held me back. I discovered a deep love of beautiful things at an early age, and at the same time, learned how they taxed the artist. I particularly recall a childhood favourite, The Tailor of Gloucester by Beatrix Potter. That delicious detail of cherry-coloured silk twist left an indelible impression. In the story there in an urgent deficit of this precious stuff for the Mayor’s “ coat of cherry-coloured corded silk embroidered with pansies and roses and a cream-coloured satin waistcoat trimmed with gauze and green worsted chenille” ( Wikisource contributors 2023 ).
